This is an addictive game. My only complaint would be that at times the free version doesnt seem to enforce the rules. For instance it doesnt force you to make your meld using your hand and only the top card of the pile you pick up. It allows you to use all the cards to add towards your meld. Different than what I was used to, but there are so many variations on Canasta rules!

Having played Canasta for over 25 years, and now teaching my daughter to play it, I was thrilled when she found it on the app store, and gladly paid $3.49 for the full version. That being said, there is a major rule flaw which needs to be corrected. When you pick up the deck to meld, you need to meld the cards in your hand first, with the top card on the deck being the only card from the deck which is used, before the deck is incorporated into your hand. If that flaw gets upgraded in a future update, I will revise my rating to 4-star. I’m also not sure going out “concealed” is covered as it should be (200 points vs 100 points for simply going out). Allowing other combinations other than a 4-handed game, including the ability to play online vs a real person, would truly make this a 5-star game.

I downloaded the free version to "try before I buy". Way too easy. I win every time. I also agree with the previous reviewer concerning the use of the entire deck to create melds in your hand. its not how you play Canasta. Ill be deleting the free version and keep watch for an upgrade that fixes the melding issue and then maybe consider the purchase. Other than that the came has great graphics and is well conceived. Just needs some more work.

I am totally enjoying this game, I would recommend others to try it

This game is well presented and very easy to play. It is too bad that it does not respect the rules of the game specially concerning the minimum requirements to open the game or to pick in the discard pile. I will buy the app as soon this is corrected.

Not too bad, fun to play. Rules are a bit different than what Im used to but still pretty good to play.

Very good game, but sometimes the other team have wild cards and they could open but they hold and goes into the minus. But the rest is ok

Lots of fun and very addictive

Pretty smooth transitions and works great!

Exceptional graphics, animations and user interface, however the following rules are broken(should not be possible): 1) can pick up pile with canasta. 2) can include contents of pile under top card in points for initial meld. 3) no "unable to discard" option. 4) can pick up pile with one card and a wild card. Other than that, the developers might consider adding a 2-3 player option, as well as an online or simply a pass and play option. In general, I quite enjoyed the game. Kudos on a good product

I like the game, but when I turned off the sound effects, they wouldnt come back on.

Love this game.

In Canasta, red 3s are worth 100 points. You add 100 points only if you have secured it/the, with a Canasta. If the red 3s have not been secured by a Canasta, they are to be deducted from the players score. This app adds 100 points per red 3 whether or not they have been secured by a Canasta. There are other logic flaws as well, but this one stands out.

Really enjoy the intuitiveness of this game, excellent for beginners!

The recent update has greatly improved this game. One major flaw I see is in melding. Check the rules. When you reach the 90 or 120 level, the meld must be done in one turn, before you can continue.

The melding at times is soooooo wrong. Hope to see it fixed soon. Love the game though.

I like playing games but my family isnt so much. This is a great way to pass a few minutes here and there. Different rules then Im used to but I like it just the same.

Latest update freezes in update mode. Cant load it, or play, and it cant be deleted. Dont install!

Since the latest update this game is frustrating to say the least. Your opponents(the computer) get straight into making 6 or Canasta while youre sitting there with a bunch of singles in your hand. Then your partner (also computer) gives your opponents cards they need to make canasta even if they have an alternative card, including a 3! Ive found this so irritating, Ive deleted it from my iPad. Crap!
